It Will Take Great Courage Even To Place Such A Topic On The Agenda

Have you ever said to yourself, even silently, “I would like what that man has? I want what that man is talking about.” Our troubled world needs a leader, a politician – no more than that – a statesman, who will speak prophetically and with authoritative anointing.

Then you seek what that man has and you search for what that man it talking about.

You may even ask God to grant you your request, and God graciously gives it to you in a time of peace and blessing, and then demands that you use it in a time of war.

I recall a friend saying, Request prophetic word “If you want what I have, then you have to go where I have been.”

I went and I got what he received, with similar consequences. It is similar to basic training in the army. You exercise and prepare with comrades in the safety and security of the barracks, but you are called upon to produce what you have learned in time of warfare.

When God calls a man to exercise a prophetic ministry he will quickly realise that he is carrying the burden of the Lord. That which concerns God in society becomes an increasing concern in the prophet’s heart. He has to speak out, and when he does so, he speaks with an authority that is not naturally his.

The prophet reapplies and states the claims of God for loyalty, faithfulness and obedience. Repetition is not something of which the prophet is afraid. There are four Gospels. When God repeats something He is usually underlining its importance.

The prophet is a Father pleaser. Jesus was always seeking to please the Father in everything He said and did.

God was a Father before He was a Saviour.

Of course, there are false prophets. They speak good things which are not from God, like, “Peace, peace, where there is no peace”, and say everything is going to be all right, when it is not going to be all right! Jeremiah knew all about these people, and they attempted to silence him. People will do the same with true prophets today.

A prophetic word builds up faith, feeds faith, reveals truth, indicates what God is doing whilst pointing out what man so needs to hear. Might these words inspire you to seek a genuine sincere prophetic ministry. I tell you – the world certainly needs it in these present times.

As I write Kenya, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq are all in turmoil.

Bad leadership has made bad decisions. Ordinary men and women are suffering. Many are dying. What does God think about all this? Is this not agenda material for The White House, Downing Street, London, and the Leadership of the United Nations in New York?

It will take courage even to place it on the agenda – never mind speak out in the Name of the God and Father of our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.

And I am referring to the only God there is – the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He sent His Son to save and rescue mankind and he raises up men to speak on His behalf. Since the Day of Pentecost He has always had men who would stand and speak with courage and grace. Such a voice with a strong clarion call is urgently required.
